The Offshoot Apprentice Program has met with great success over the years. It's an exciting opportunity for community members to not only star in a play of their own, but to work side-by-side with professional actors and other theatre practitioners.
In the past, apprentices have performed such works as You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Story Theater, How to Eat Like a Child And Other Lessons in Not Being a Grown-Up, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Charlotte's Web, The Tolstoy Story Play, The King Stag, Clowns Play, and The Blue Light and Other Stories, and summer 2001's Tale of Sleeping Beauty, which was undoubtedly the most successful apprentice play we've done. But every play has been a wonderful experience of fun and learning for our apprentice actors, several of whom have gone on to act professionally in Atlanta and beyond!
The next round of apprentice audition/interviews will begin in December 2001. The current minimum age of apprentices is 16. Occasionally, a younger apprentice may be accepted into the program.
